Very good- hardcover. Charles H. Stephens (illustrator). 1st Edition, apparent first printing with no additional printings noted on copyright page. No jacket. Beige cloth with pictorial and letters in black on front cover and lettering on spine. Square, intact binding with crack but holding between title page and frontispiece. Title page has red title and publisher text. Clean text pages. A contemporary gift inscription is on the front free endpaper with an erasure and a small tape mend to the word "Merry" in "Merry Christmas". End papers a bit soiled and darkened. Bumping of ends of spine and lightly on corners. Rear cover soiled from use.
