The Baron, John Mannering, receives a visit from Superintendent Bristow of New Scotland Yard, asking for his help to solve a mystery in which Mannering's knowledge of precious stones will be invaluable. Is this an attempt by the police to prove than Mannering is The Baron, a master jewel-thief of great notoriety? Written by John Creasey, under one of his many pseudonyms, Anthony Morton, a prolific English writer of crime novels, science fiction, romance, and western novels. He wrote over six hundred novels under twenty-eight different pseudonyms. In the original black cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light shelf wear. A small closed tear to the tail of the spine and a 2" closed tear to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
