Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1929. First Edition and First Printing. Octavo, lacking the dust jacket; light brown cloth boards, black imprinting on cover and spine, top edges dyed red, 308 pp. Very Good; some front cover soil, page edge age-toning; cover lightly bumped, prior owner's bookplate at ffep. Firmly bound, and the spine is as bright as the cover. A nice example. See scan. Very highly regarded in Europe, a legal story - a true one - regarding a lieutenant of lancers who was falsely accused of assault by his Colonel's daughter - but he made no defense, went to prison, and was vindicated only many years later. L 42n.
