A generally bright, first edition copy of James Thomson"s allegorical poem. This is one of Thomson"s better known poems, and is written in Spenserian stanzas at a time where many considered this style to be outdated. It sparked an interest in stanza form, which later influenced the likes of Byron, Wordsworth and Keats. ESTC reference no: T100046. This copy has page 75 numbered correctly. Lacking the final blank. Disbound, as issued. Externally, generally smart. Front wrap is age-toned with occasional light spots. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. With just the occasional light spots. Very Good.
