The very scarce first edition of this catalogue of works held by the Montrose Library, located in the coastal town of Montrose in Angus, Scotland. Established in 1785, the Montrose Library was a popular subscription library located in the Montrose Guildhall in the town centre, before moving to the museum building shortly after this catalogue was published, in 1898. This catalogue of works held by the library is alphabetically arranged, and accompanied by a four page account of the rules and regulations subscribers of the library were expected to adhere to, along with giving the price of annual membership: one guinea.
