First edition, each volume published separately. Three volumes. 352pp; 400pp; 400pp. Volume two has a color frontispiece and volume three is illustrated with black-and-white plates. Red clothcovered boards with gilt on the spines and top edges. Volumes two and three are ex-library with the usual markings, all volumes have fading to the spine, wear to the boards, and crack hinges, still sound copies, overall very good, lacking the dust jackets if issued. Each volume was limited to 1,000 copies: volume one is copy 103, volume two is copy 848, and volume three is copy 500. Seller Inventory # 559677
