Third state(?) with 'Methven' to spine of boards instead of 'Methuen', tipped in title page with first published in 1914 to reverse, eight page publisher's catalogue to rear dated Autumn 1913 and a 31 page publisher's catalogue to rear dated July 1913. Also has a loose four page publisher's leaflet dated Autumn 1913 of Methuen's Popular Novels. Green boards with gold lettering/design to spine are very good with a little pushing/bumping to corners, the odd very small mark, very minor darkening to spine, the odd very minor scratch, odd minor bump/rub to edges and a little wear (pushing/rubbing/very small splits to the cloth) to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Rough cut page edges and bottoms. Previous owner's name in pen to front end-paper. Pages bit tanned. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges, tops and bottoms. Occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy. All books described honestly and accurately.
