Nice copy of the first edition of this presentation of the Journal of F.A. Chardon that is a firsthand account of the early fur trade in the Upper Missouri River region in the first half of the 19th century. Extensively footnoted and annotated. 458 pages, red cloth with gilt titles. Interior pages clean and bright, a number of pages still uncut. Covers bright and showing little exterior wear with two small, lightly rubbed spots on the back cover. However there are several spots rubbed through the cloth to board on bottom edge of the back pastedown page.
