About this Item

First Edition with matching dates to title page and copyright page. Black cloth covered boards with blind stamped chess board and pieces to front. Gilt lettering and rules to spine. Very Good, front board has a half cup sized light stain. Rear board has smudging to top corner and rubbing along the joint. Edges and spine ends are modestly rubbed. Prior owner name in ink at top of front paste down. Old chess-related newspaper article laid in at page 38 and 39 has resulted in browning of those pages. Light toning to paste downs and end papers.
