(Betts: 13-32; Bibliotheca Van der Linde-Niemeijeriana: 1844) First edition. 250 games arranged in tabulated form, illustrating openings used in 'pawn and move' odds games. A second edition published in 1891. Condition: Endpapers with glue shadows. Toned inside. Cover slightly dusty with bumped corners. Spine and back cover stained else good.
