This is a first edition of the work, in the original publisher's blue cloth binding, with the original, unclipped, dust wrapper. This work is an epic fantasy novel, written by J. R. R. Tolkien, the English writer and philologist who is best known for his works The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Tolkien wrote the original version of this story in the late 1910s, intermittently revising it throughout his life, but ultimately leaving it unfinished before he died. His son, Christopher Tolkien edited the manuscripts and published it as an independent work.The Children of Húrin is one of Tolkien's three "great tales" which are set in the First Age of Middle Earth.
