Old tape marks to corners of front end papers. No other marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked blue cloth boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or torn or creased with rubbed spine ends and corners and brown mark to spine. 238pp. The author arrived in China in 1905 to join the Chinese Customs Service at Chinkiang and this account follows the next thirty years of his life of adventures and excitement. He also tells us what China was really like in those times. Illustrated. We do not use stock photos, the picture displayed is of the actual book for sale.
