English text; Hardcover (with dust jacket); 22.5 x 29.5 cm, 1.979 Kg; 352 pages with various colour illustrations.; NEW. STILL WRAPPED IN PLASTIC.; The Chinese ceramics in the Rijksmuseum comprise one of the finest but least published collections of Chinese porcelain in the world. These include Kraak and Transitional porcelains, a wide selection of Kangxi underglaze blue and polychrome wares, famille rose and other eighteen-century enamelled wares, Chine de commande, blanc de Chine and Yixing wares. In addition there is a selection of imperial wares and pieces made for the Chinese market which includes rare and unusual pieces. The importance of the book lies in the quality of the collection and the scholarly commentaries to the pieces which include the most up-to-date research. Extensive introductory sections provide background information to the wares described and illustrated and place the objects in historical context.…
