Gray cloth with gilt spine titles, black cover rules and wapiti head decoration to front panel; 8vo; 207pp; illustrated with engraved frontispiece with tissue guard, 15 plates of b/w photos & drawings plus fold-out map at rear. Church and his gunning partner, J.V. Phelps, set out to hunt trophy ibex and wapiti as well as Siberian roe deer. Unsuccessful in their quest for Ovis ammon however. "The author provides excellent descriptions of the terrain and of the indigenous peoples." (Czech p47) This copy in G to VG condition with minor cover wear. Perforated library stamping to title page o/w internally clean with all plates & map bright.
