Hardcover in publisher trade binding of blue linen cloth lettered and decorated in red and black and spine lettered and decorated in gilt and black. 267 pp. + 14 pp. publisher's catalog at rear. A tight, fine example, mere hint of spine fade. The second collection of detective tales in the Holmsian tradition, featuring Martin Hewett. Morrison began publishing the Hewitt stories to satisfy the public's hunger for detective stories after Holmes went over the Reichenbach Falls and Doyle ceased (at least for several years) writing Sherlock tales.
