About this Item
Not dated, 1940s, 4 sheets, each sheet 30x24cm, to cut out and stand up, housed in a colourful folder, itself also designed to be cut out. In fine unused condition, a remarkable survivor thus. Philmar was founded as a jigsaw puzzle manufacturer by Philip Marx in the late 1930s and after WW2 it moved into board games followed, in the mid-1950s, by card games, both under the Ariel brand name. In the early 1980s it was taken over by Gibson Games. Marx also published comics under the Philmar and PM Productions imprints. See our other listing for another Philmar model - both are rare items, neither are listed on COPAC or WorldCat. Seller Inventory # 6266
