1st Edition. Hardbound 8vo (9 inches tall) 933 pages. Index. Description: Figure illustrations. Six double sided color plates. The preface to the first volume explained that the plan of the editors contemplates the publication of three volumes under the same general title, The Citrus Industry. This second volume, complete in itself, covers all the ordinary orchard practices employed in producing the crop: nursery methods, choice and use of rootstocks, planting, cultivation, fertilization, irrigation, pruning, protection against frost, treatment of diseases, pest control and related subjects. The third volume is to consider The Harvesting, Marketing, and Utilization of the Crop. Each volume is intended to be complete in itself and independent of the others. BINDING/CONDITION: this from a collection obtained from a county agricultural department reference library; the books ranging from zero library markings to minimal -- all were rebound in library type binding, washable type cloth binding; rust colored with gilt spine text; an ink stamp of the Agricultural Commissioner on both front and rear endpapers and a few times in the interior; otherwise in Very Good condition.
