Clare College is the second-oldest surviving college of the University of Cambridge, having been founded as University Hall in 1326. It was renamed Clare Hall in 1338 after an endowment from Elizabeth de Clare. This college is famous for its chapel choir and for its gardens. In this work, J. R. Wardale explores the history of the college through letters and documents. Illustrated with facsimiles and portraits throughout. In the publisher's original cloth binding.
