Collectible first edition, first printing of Cleo, a A Little Golden Book. Basset Hound Cleo was featured in the ca. 1950's TV show, "The People's Choice," starring Jackie Cooper. Per Simon and Schuster's practice of designating first printings, an "A" appears deep in the lower gutter of last page. Durward color photographs throughout. Droll captions by Irwin Shapiro. 24 pp. 8" x 6 5/8". Tight, unmarked copy with truly minimal shelf wear. Tiny area of chipping to top edge of back panel. Internals mildly tanned.
