Nizar N. Zein, MD, holds the Mikati Foundation Endowed Chair in Liver Diseases and is Chief of the Section of Hepatobiliary Diseases and Medical Director of Liver Transplantation at Cleveland Clinic. The author of more than 200 publications, Dr. Zein is the associate editor of the American Journal of Gastroenterology and co-edits The Year in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Kevin M. Edwards, MSN, CNP, is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Nurse Corps of the Ohio Army National Guard, with which he has served for more than 20 years. He completed a year's postgraduate fellowship in Clinical Hepatology. At Cleveland Clinic, he worked in the Department of Gastroenterology, caring for patients with all forms of liver disease.
