About this Item
AGATHA CHRISTIE - 13 CLUES FOR MISS MARPLE, published by Dodd Mead, copyright 1966, First Printing (no references to subsequent printings on copyright page), only trade printing (there were no reprints of this book - there was a nearly identical book club edition but that book is (a) skinnier, and (b) does not have "by Vail-Ballou Press" as its last line on the copyright page), white endpapers, green boards with yellow lettering to spine, $3.50 price on DJ front flap. ONE OF THE RARER DODD MEAD AGATHA CHRISTIE 1STS (EASILY THE SECOND RAREST 1960s DODD MEAD 1ST) AS THIS IS A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES PUBLISHED IN MUCH SMALLER QUANTITIES THAN CHRISTIE'S ANNUAL NOVELS AND THERE WAS NO UK EDITION.
Book has no creased page corners, no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps inside, no foxing to pages or endpapers, slight age darkening/foxing to outer page edges (no dust soiling), original endpapers are clean with no soiling or staining (age darkening lines where DJ flaps reacted with endpapers), no splitting to internal hinges, no spine lean, no wear to board edges or to board corners or to spine tips, no spine sun fading/darkening, no rubbing to spine lettering, no soiling or staining to front board, no bumped board corners.
Dust jacket has no chipping or tearing or creasing, no wear to spine tips, no wear to front flap crease, no spine sun fading (very very common defect with this DJ - usually the title lettering is found completely faded away), no dust rubbing to white panels, virtually no soiling or staining.
Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book in N-FINE dust jacket (not price clipped) of one of the rarer 1960s Agatha Christie 1st printings. I have a number of other U.K. and U.S. Agatha Christie 1st printing hardcover books up for sale.
