Colonel Sir John Sinclair, 1st Baronet was a British politician, military officer and writer who was one of the first people to use the word "statistics" in English. In a half calf binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Loss of calf to back strip head, and minor loss of calf to back strip tail. Joints starting, with boards tenderly held by cords only. Former owner's stamp to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, with foxing throughout. Significant offsetting to plates. Good.
