No dustwrapper, titles on spine are quite faded, minor bumping to spine ends and corners of brown boards, f/ep has been torn out (possibly a previous owner's name was written there) but original owner's gift message dated Xmas 1945 is written on half-title. Otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover novel. The story, set in rural coastal Florida, deals with a brother and sister living on the remaining few acres of their family's once-prosperous plantation, and unaware of their partial Black ancestry (their grandmother was a slave). 256pp. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
