Hardback, 26cm x 16cm dark blue cloth boards, gilt titles, first edition, xvii prelims, 593pp. plus index, Black and white illustrations. Good +/NoWrapper. Spine bumped, boards a little dusty but clean overall, block edges worn with a hint of foxing to top block edge, diffeential fading to endpapers. Pages otherwise clean and unmarked, seven fold-out maps secure and clean at rear. Dustwrapper (now protected) is a little tanned with wear to edges, ends of spine frayed, some chipping also with loss to top edges, also to top right and bottom left of rear. A comprehensive account of the deeds of all five battalions of the Coldstream Guards during WW2, covering (1) the war prior to Dunkirk, (2) The North Africa and Italy campaigns, and (3) North-West Europe after D-Day. Includes rolls of honour and Introductory chapter which provides link to earlier Regimental history of Sir John Ross. Catalogue: Military History.
