4 vols. Blue cloth boards, titles on spine in gold, facsimile signature on front board in gold. Bindings tight, spines straight, corners square. Pages clean and unmarked apart from small gift inscription in black on front pasted down endpaper of Vol 1. Mild wear to jacket foot and head of Vol 1-3 (with one small, closed tear at head of Vol 1). Jackets clipped at upper corner of front flap. All jackets in mylar. A handsome set of Orwell's collected journalism, essays, and letters in uniform bindings. All first editions, first printings.

The Chatham Bookseller has been in historic Madison, NJ for more than fifty years. Ours is a general shop which emphasizes good literature, art and scholarly books in many different fields. We specialize in rare books, modern first editions and ephemera. The shop is open six days a week and we encourage browsing. We are happy to bring out books listed online upon request. We also do book searches and appraisals. Since April 2026, The Chatham Bookseller has been owned and operated by Kate Park.
