8vo, 179pp; original brown cloth stamped in gilt and black. Copy number 14 from the presentation issue of just fifty press-numbered copies. This one was presented to Allen Tate and has his pencil ownership signature on the front free endpaper and occasional marginal notes and markings throughout. Tate was an early and constant champion of Crane's work and provided the introduction to Crane's first book, White Buildings in 1926. Schwartz & Schweik A4.1. Spine faded, heavily worn and chipped with a two-inch portion of the backstrip nearly detached; edges rubbed.
