First Edition (first printing) of this new 'definitive' edition, based on a close study of the original manuscripts, and including a selection of juvenilia and several hitherto unpublished poems. 8vo. x, 191pp. Yellow cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with the publisher's vibrant red top edge stain. With facsimile reproductions of three handwritten drafts of his poem 'Anthem for Doomed Youth', plus a facsimile of the final handwritten version. A scattering of very light spotting to the fore edge, else a fine copy in in very good non-price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly toned at the spine panel, with a touch of wear to the spine ends and a single tiny fraction of loss. Day-Lewis' nineteen-page introduction precedes seventy-nine poems (twenty more than the Blunden-edited edition of 1931), plus a very slightly amended version of Blunden's 'Memoir' (which first appeared in that same 1931 edition).
