Octavo - VG+/VG+ - Blue cloth covered boards and spine with shiny gilt lettering on the spine. Light bumping at the head and tail of the spine and at the extreme tips of the two lower outside corners. Cloth at the extreme head and tail of the spine has lightened some from sun. White endpapers. Binding is straight and tight. Pages have slightly darkened to a light cream color around the outside edges, but are all clean and crisp. 574 pages. Dust Jacket - has a tiny chip in the extreme tips of a few of the corners. White jacket has an almost imperceptible evidence of handling over time. Heavier than average book will require additional postage on orders requesting International or Priority shipping services. Not perfect, but still a tight, clean, reasonably attractive copy. No additional printings noted. Short prose fiction from Williams, who made his reputation with such monumental pieces of drama as A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie, and others.

From the Inside Flap
"One overpowering impression emerges from all these stories put together: Tennessee Williams knew more about the hidden life of far-flung America than any of us really suspected." -- Seymour Krim, Washington Post Book World
"By turns disturbing, moving, and funny; these stories help amplify Williams's tragic vision, for like the plays, they underline his preoccupation and insight into the conflicts of the human heart."
-- Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times
