Printed by T & A Constable, Printers to His Majesty at the Edinburgh University Press. The text is printed on very good quality hand cut paper. PAGES, with bright gilt at top edge and rough cut at side and base: xx (inc. list of Contents) + 477 + 5 blank endpapers. Tucked inside is a newspaper article, dated Wednesday January 29, 1919 titled 'The Scholars, by Rudyard Kipling. CONDITION: Overall, it is believed to be a very good copy for its age and in view of it being a scarce first printing of the first edition. All pages are securely bound in. The cloth quarter binding is securely attached. Gift inscription at the top of the ffep shows: A. M Prince. Given by Sir John Jenkins after "Jens" was killed 1915. All pages are well bound in though the first front blank end papers have split and there s splitting beginning at the top of the last blank end papers. Browning on the first and last blank end papers. There is yellowing through the book but the print is clear and with an orderly layout.
