A vast collection of eighty-eight issues of The Bibelot from Thomas Bird Mosher. Eighty-eight volumes. First edition. The Bibelot was a yearly literary anthology published between 1895 and 1914. It featured the lesser known works of writers such as Algernon Charles Swinburne, William Morris, Arthur Symons, D. G. Rossetti, Austin Dobson, J. A. Symonds, Robert Louis Stevenson, Oscar Wilde, and Fiona MacLeod. Produced and edited by Thomas Bird Mosher, an American publisher, notable for his contributions to the private press movement in the United States, and as a major exponent of the British Pre-Raphaelites and Aesthetes as well as other British Victorians. This set contains: Volume I: May No. 5 and July No. 7. Volume II: January No. 1, March No. 3, April No. 4, June No. 6, July No. 7, and October No. 10. Volume III: January No. 1, February No. 2, and September No. 9. Volume IV: January No. 1, April No. 4, May No. 4, and December No. 12. Volume V: April No. 4. Externally, sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Sunning to the spines and board edges with the odd small mark. Small closed tears to the board edges with light loss to the odd spine. Boards and endpapers detached but present to Volume I No. 5, Internally, generally firmly bound with some pages detached from the boards. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and the odd small handling mark. Light age toning to the extremities. The odd ink inscription to the pages or boards. Loss to page 151/152 of Volume II June No. 6. Good.
