Written by Phyllis Dorothy James, an English novelist and life peer best known for creating the police commander Adam Dalgliesh. This set includes: A Certain Justice, 1997. After successfully defending Garry Ashe against the charge of murder, criminal lawyer Venetia Aldridge is murdered in her office. Adam Dalgliesh must ascertain whether this was an inside job. Death in Holy Orders, 2001. Following the death of a student in Saint Anselm's College, the Archdeacon is murdered, Dalgliesh is assigned the investigation. The Lighthouse, 2005. Dalgliesh is brough in to investigate a mysterious death of a famous writer on an inaccessible island off the Cornish coast. The Private Patient, 2008. Two days after Rhoda Gradwyn arrives to a plastic surgery clinic in Dorset, she is savagely murdered. Dalgliesh and the team are soon caught in a race against time when another dead body is found.
