About the Author

Prabhakaran K Paleri has career experience and academic qualifications in national defence, law enforcement and allied subjects related to national security. He retired as the Director General of the Indian Coast Guard in August 2006. He holds a multi-disciplinary PhD degree in business administration and strategic studies besides a master's degree in national security strategy. He has researched and published papers on strategic subjects and authored a book, Role of the Coast Guard in the Maritime Security of India.
