Item description from seller

First edition, hardcover issue. Small quarto. 168, [2] pp. Illustrated. Ex-library with a vertical strip of tissue mending on each pastedown (covering abrasion from glued-on jacket protector; the mend is partially covered by the jacket flaps), modest evidence of pocket removal on rear fly, small stamp on the topedge and four small stamps on the preliminaries, a very good copy in a jacket that is fine save for the printed spine label. An imperfect but very bright copy of this unabashed autobiography of a radical feminist and Civil Rights lawyer, who was one of the first Black American women to graduate from Columbia Law School. The hardcover issue seems to be much more uncommon than the wrappered issue.
