Add to basketA real nice clean unmarked 104 page very large first edition hardcover with a very nice dust jacket that has just a little corner wear and a repaired tear on back top right corner that may not show in my scan. A nicely illustrated book with 70 illustrations that tells the story of ships, ship-building and sailing from the papyrus rafts of the Ancient Egyptians to the nuclear-powered warships and giant super tankers of today. The author traces the development of fighting ships from earliest days through the galleons of Drake and the men-of-war of Nelson to the giant battleships and aircraft carriers of World War Il. Size: 12h x 9 1/2w.
