Half calf over marbled boards, VG. 3 volumes in one, [viii]+280+155+131pp, each work bound with the half title but LACKING the original covers, occasional browning & foxing to the pages, binding rubbed & worn. A fair copy of each work. A collection of three uncommon works concerning the Paris Commune of 1871. The first work is by Parisien journalist Charles Virmaitre who, being hostile to the Commune, was Captain of the 8th Battalion of the National Guard. He is best remembered for his works on Flagellation & Parisien prostitution. The third work is lacking the second & third volumes. Arthur Arnould [ 1833 - 1895 ], French libertarian journalist who was , after the proclamation of the Republic, appointed deputy mayor of the fourth arrondissement. 600 grams.
