General history of communal life, from animal and primitive human societies, to European and modern American communities. Includes chapters on Jesuits in Paraguay, Protestant and Socialist communities in the United States, Anarchists, agrarian societies, co-operative communities. Undated, but circa 1929 - the original French edition was published in 1928. Hardcover in jacket, as pictured. Light wear to book; jacket shows some scuffing to front panel, long quarter-inch chunk missing from upper rear panel - no loss of text; rear free endsheet creased; pages lightly tanned; some are unopened; that is, the fore-edge has not been trimmed, leaving the original folds of the gatherings of some sections intact. Text clean, [223] pages; index. Size: Small Octavo.
