An excellent copy of this true first edition of the collected poems of William Carlos Williams. First U.S. edition, in rare first state, bound in green cloth (most issues of the first edition use a navy blue cloth and this green version is much less common and, from this sellers understanding, preceds the other) With original dustjacket. Interior is crisp, clean, and free of marks. Binding is solid, sturdy, and square. Dust jacket has moderate overall scuffing and is fairly worn along the top and bottom edges. Front cover has a few scratches and the top corners are creased. Back cover has some pock marks and some creasing along the bottom edge. Joints where the covers connect to the spine also have some light creasing. Reverse side of the splits in the DJ have form. Both edge folds, where the DJ wraps around the edge of the board, are split about halfway. Some tape has been removed where possible. Top of the spine and one spot on the back cover also have some smaller pieces of tape to secure small tears. DJ is wrapped in a mylar cover for protection. Overall, an excellent copy of this very uncommon edition of this book.
