Quarter bound in publisher's gray cloth over black boards, silver lettering on black panels on spine, author's facsimile signature, silver, on cover, fore-edge deckle. nd (1985). Illustrated with drawings by Mark Twain. This volume contains 68 essays and 9 speeches. These are all of Twain's essays to be found in his collected works, and nine speeches that "possess the characteristic style of Clements's essays." Edited and with an Introduction by Charles Neider. The volume is in virtually perfect condition, unmarked, tight, square, and clean. The unclipped ($7.50) dust jacket, now in Mylar, is mildly chipped with small closed tears at the head of the spine, else near fine. FINE/VERY GOOD. Drawings. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. xxv, 705 pages.
