Although her earlier book, Jane Packer's New Flower Arranging, was a feast for the eyes, specific instructional material was kept to a minimum. Her new book is as practical as it is gorgeous, with beautifully photographed, step-by-step directions for every arrangement. Packer's floral designs reflect a refreshing, exuberant sensibility in combining texture, color, and container. Among the fresh and dried offerings are a bridal bouquet and informal hanging bunches of herbs and flowering plants. Included is a glossary describing specific traits of many flowers; professional tricks of the florist's trade are illustrated, helping ensure successful ventures even for the complete novice.
