First edition Nd. c. 1845. Two Volume Set. Volume one is the text volume and is large octavo format and volume two is the plate volume and quarto size. Volume two the plate volume is in three sections, part one is on coats, part two is on trousers, pantaloons, and breeches, and part three is on disproportion, this part LACKS ONE PLATE, plate number 50. All the plates have a water stain across the middle. The three sections of the plate volume all have their own title. Some foxing and darkening throughout. The set was restored in 1986 and has new endpapers to match old ones. Both volumes re-cased and retain their original spines. Publishers dark green blind stamped cloth with gilt lettering. Some rubbing and light fraying to edges and corners. Still a good solid set professionally restored. A rare book.
