Very good, first edition book in good plus dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards; gilt illustration on front panel matches front panel of dust jacket and frontispiece. Gilt lettering and different illustration stamped on spine. Upper external page edges are gilt. Board spine and edges are faded. Small bumps to lower fore-edge corners. Previous owner's bookplate on front paste down. Book is internally clean and text block is tight. Dust jacket is soiled overall, more obvious against the white background of back panel and flaps. Lower corner of back jacket panel has irregular loss of 2 1/8" by up to 7/8". Additional losses are 1 7/8" by up tp 3/8" across width of at head of jacket spine and carrying over to upper left corner of front panel; and 1/2" by 5/16" at upper right fore-edge corner of front panel. Lower right fore-edge corner of front panel has a 1/2" closed tear along the fold. Lower left corner of back fold has a similar closed tear. Several chips and rubs along lower edge at tail of jacket spine. Price of 10'6 NET is on spine. Inside flap corners have not been clipped.
