Wear to unclipped dust jacket with rubbing, creasing, and toning to covers, corners, and edges. 1" closed tear to top edge of Vol. 2, and 1/2" punctured tear to front cover of Vol. 1. Bound in black paper over boards with spines lettered in silver. Faint dust-spotting to edges of text blocks. Previous owner's stamps to front free endpapers. Pages are clean and unmarked. Bindings are firm and sound. A presentable two-volume set. ABOUT VOLUME 1: Systematic Fieldwork is the culmination of decades of work by Werner, Schoepfle and their associates on developing a systematic method of doing ethnographic work. In the first volume the authors explain the theoretical basis to their model of fieldwork, `ethnoscience ethnography. They then show how to design and conduct systematic fieldwork using ethnoscience observation and interview techniques.(Publisher) ABOUT VOLUME 2: In the second volume of Systematic Fieldwork the authors concentrate on data analysis and communication of results. They explain the processes involved in data analysis using ethnoscience ethnography: establishing appropriate mechanisms of data retrieval, uncovering the cognitive structures, devising verbal action plans and decision models, analyzing oral texts, and utilizing a variety of techniques for data reduction. Underground Books, ABAA is an online rare and antiquarian bookshop, founded in 2011 as a brick and mortar general bookstore of the same name in downtown Carrollton, Georgia, which is now operated by out former store manager as The Underground Bookshop. Co-owners Josh Niesse and Megan Bell met in 2011, just 10 days or so after Josh opened the doors of Underground Books, literally underground, several steps below street level in a 100-year-old basement in our historic downtown. Megan, an English student at the University of West Georgia, walked in, fell down the rabbit hole, and never left! Reader, we married in May of 2014, under the book arch that now resides at the bookshop. We are both proud alumni of the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS), and Megan additionally of Rare Book School at the University of Virginia and of the ABAA Women’s Initiative Mentorship Program. Like many booksellers with open brick-and-mortar stores, we are passionate generalists, but our specialties are in decorative publisher's cloth bindings; fairy tales, folklore, and mythology; popular science and natural history; the occult; and fine press books.…
