Item description from seller

Publisher's full oatmeal cloth, gilt lettering on spine and cover. Profusely illustrated with over 875 B&W illustrations and 49 full-page plates in color.Raphael, the genius of the High Renaissance, is seen here for the first time in the full breadth of his artistic activity. Though he died during his 37th year, Raphael achieved universal fame for his paintings, drawings and architectural projects. These activities of the artist are treated by eight of Italy`s leading scholars, together with his interests in Ancient Rome, his poetry, and a full exposition of his life. This study is the most complete one on Raphael in the English language. The volume is in perfect, pristine condition, unmarked, unread, tight, square and clean. The unclipped dust jacket (now in Mylar) has a few closed tears, else fine. An extremely large, heavy book (about 15 pounds) - additional shipping charges may apply. AS NEW/VERY GOOD. Color Plates. Folio 13" - 23" tall. 649 pp.
