Limited Edition of 250 copies on Japanese vellum, this copy No.218. Royal 8vo, iii + pp26 with frontispiece, six characters in costume designed and engraved on wood by Blair Hughes-Stanton plus tailpiece. Hardcover with original glassine wrapper. Glassine wrapper in fair/good condition with some chipping and small pieces missing from spine and edges. Publishers beige cloth spine over bevelled cream paper covered boards with gilt titles to spine in very good condition, with a few small marks to spine and a little rubbing to top tips of boards. Inside previous gift inscription from "william Stirling, 1937" and except for a little yellowing, all pages in excellent clean and bright condition. A lovely copy of Milton's pastoral drama first presented at Ludlow Castle, 1634 (first published anonymously 1637) beautifully produced by The Gregynog Press that ranked alongside the leading Private Presses of the day.
