Stated First Edition. First printing with errata slip on p. 12. The book is bound in fine green with title and author in gilt on the spine. Floral design stamped in gilt on the front cover. The top corner of the back cover is slightly rolled. The binding is square and tight. A previous owner has left flowers pressed at Plate 69, and the page opposite the Plate has some tan areas. Otherwise, pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. The price-clipped dust jacket is in good condition with 2" closed tear on the top edge of the back panel near the head and smaller tears on the bottom edge of the front panel. A previous owner has taped over these tears. 1486 species illustrated in full color. Introduction by Prince Phillip.
