About this Item

Scarce, small-press feminist title from the early 1970's explores the psychological and emotional dimensions of women's lives during wartime - not as combatants, but as "concomitant soldiers," living parallel battles of waiting, loss, and endurance. Jason's prose examines how war reshapes identity and intimacy, portraying women as both participants and survivors in a male-defined conflict. The tone & style is reflective, feminist, and sociological and written in literary realism with dialogue-driven scenes and introspective narration. Set in the mid-20th-century America, with references to Harrisburg and Camp Campbell, situating the story amid domestic and military spheres.
