About this Item
A smart first UK edition of this unfinished novel from German author Thomas Mann. First UK edition. An unfinished novel, following the life of an impostor and adventurer named Felix Krull. The son of a ruined Rhineland winemaker, Felix avoids military service and makes his way to France, where he takes a job in a prestigious hotel. Written by Paul Thomas Mann, a German novelist, short story writer, social critic, philanthropist, essayist, and winner of the 1929 Nobel Prize in Literature. Translated by Denver Lindley, an American translator. In the original full green binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is smart with light wear and minor chipping to the extremities. Light sunning to the spine with the odd small closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Fine. Seller Inventory # 902T61
