Claude Chaline was Professor at Paris XII University (UPEC) and the Institute of Town Planning in Paris, and a consultant to UNESCO. Adib Fares was a consultant in town planning, whose doctoral thesis from Paris XII University was titled "Riyadh: the Mutation of a City of the Arabian Desert". No publisher is indicated, but the authors' common background and the dedication suggest Paris XII with or for the High Commission for the Development of the City of Riyadh.
