Allen P. Cook is Associate Dean of the School of Education at the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut. After earning his Ph.D. in Policy Analysis and Education from Stanford University, he has spent his career exploring issues of both Mathematics and International Education. While currently pursuing content area improvement for secondary teachers of mathematics, Dr. Cook's diverse work in education ranges from using mathematical models of microfractures to study bone matter to exploring education issues of South Asia.

Natalia Romalis is a Mathematics professor and Chair of the Mathematics Department at the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut. She earned a Ph.D. from Voronezh State University, Russia as well as a Doctor of Physical-Mathematical Sciences degree from the Latvian Academy of Sciences. In addition to the improvement of content area teaching in mathematical education, her work focuses on the use of complex variables in the analysis of fracture mechanics. Her published works include Fracture of Stochastically Inhomogeneous Materials (Zinatne Publishing, 1989) and Fracture of Solids with Microdefects (Nova Science Publishing, 2001).

Recently, the authors have been working together to translate a classical middle school geometry text from the former USSR into English.
