Conversations in Bolzano, Sandor Marai, Viking, 2004, First Edition, First Impression Published in Hungary in 1940 and published as a English translation in 2004 (translated by George Szirtes), this story begins with Casanova's escape from Piombi, from where he heads into the Alps to Bolzano. It is here that he re-encounters an enemy from the past , the Duke of Parma, and again contests with him over a woman called Francesca. In near fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean except for a small white mark to the front board and the lettering on the spine bright. There is minimal shelf wear to the top edge of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from tears and inscriptions. There is foxing to the fore edge. The unclipped dust jacket is in near fine condition with no issues. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
